Today’s Outfit – Moody Floral Pants

floral trousers

Today’s opulent trousers maybe all dark and moody but they make me very happy. The floral trend is set to continue next year, and as you can see by my trousers, they are bigger and more dramatic than ever.
Not for the shy indeed but they are easily tamed with a block coloured top or jacket – so no need to start looking for the pruning tools just yet.

The Boho Girl Is Back

This Summer and for Autumn-Winter14, you’ll notice skirts will be more flared and bags more fringed. Blame this on the 1970′s influence that designers have decided to incorporate as a major trend.
It’s a fun, laid back and flirty look and if you’re a fan of off-the-shoulder tops and knee high boots, you’ll be joyfully clicking your ankles together.
I’ve pulled a few items above which will bring you straight back in time.

Nice Things Friday

It’s July in London but today feels like an Autumn Day.

Fashion Find Of The Week – the parka

Modern military is having a moment and if you look closely at the new collections that are trickling into the shops, you’ll notice a lot of khaki .
This trend may not be for everybody but I like the idea of snuggling up in a fur hooded parka at the weekend.
Of course, it’s all about what you wear it with and because we are still only half way through Summer, I’d pair a parka with skinny white jeans and strapped heels.
This one from Zara has currently hit the shops, and I rather like its cropped girly length.

Take 4 – Toddler And Cat Invasions

During outfit posts for Ballet Pumps And Roses – this is often what happens before I get a shot that I can actually use.
Between Archie, the photo bomber, cat and often dog attention seekers, it can take a while.
Finding some of them on my laptop made me laugh and I thought I would share the stresses of being a blogging mum and animal lover.

Playing With Scarves

Scarves are a tremendous way to add a little art to what you are wearing, and can often change the feel and look of an entire outfit.
During summer I like to wear printed lightweight ones over plain block coloured tops – and during Winter, chunky long ones that go on for miles.

This animal print one I’m wearing here is from Whistles is my current favourite, and I especially love wearing it with a casual jean look.
I find the best way to wear them during the Summer is loosely draped and floaty rather than too close to the neck.
It’s also the best way to see the eye catching print in its entirety.
